Mardi Gras 2011

The Annual Dostyk Mardi Gras Party has come and gone.  It has been my second year as coordinator of the event and probably my last.  The parties keep getting better and I keep having more fun.  Mason is really into Mardi Gras with all the colors, beads, king cakes, babies, etc.  He decorated his play room and said it was Mardi Gras.  When we say Mardi Gras is over he tells me not until he says so.

Photography Outing

Since we got a new SLR camera for Christmas, I decided to take pictures of Atyrau while the snow was on the ground.  A group of us went to snap the usual places.  We barred the -20F weather and after 2 hours were ready to thaw out.  I got some great shots.  Check and see.
