Pro Football Hall of Fame

I know I was excited to see the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH, but I was not sure about the boys. They pretty much would go anywhere and do anything for a little while as long as they were moving.

It was interesting to learn the history of the game and that football was started in Pennsylvania. The first players would not even admit they got paid for playing. A long way from today's greedy stars. The evolution of the pad and helmets was eye opening. The first players were use to hardly any pads or helmets and now we have full pads and highly designed helmets that I wonder if you could do a survey of injuries then and now if there would be much of a difference. Anyway we had a great time and I really enjoyed seeing my childhood favorite, Dan Marino. He set many records back in his day and a classy guy too. I don't think we will see an Offners is the hall, but at least we can visit.

MAPS Air Museum

Planes, Bullets, Bombs, and Guns and we were in at the MAPS Air Museum.  It is a nice hands on place to learn about retired weapons and machines.  Cameron and Mason got to sit in, touch, which means try and break to me, and do things to planes, guns, and bombs I never thought were possible.  They got to be in a fighter plane and a parachuter carrying plane.  Mason even got to sit on a nuclear bomb.  We got out of there without any damage.  What's next?

Graeter's Ice Cream

Who doesn't like ice cream?  No one in this family and I thought Cameron and Mason would enjoy learning how it is made.  We took a self guided tour of Graeter's Ice Cream in Columbus, OH and learned about the french pot process and how it cost them more and takes longer to make.  In the end they hand fill every container which causes less air to be inside (unlike other companies).  The boys just wanted to eat the ice cream, but I enjoyed learned how things are made.  The ice cream was good too.

Great Wolf Lodge

What boys would not want to sleep at a water park?  I didn't have to think twice when I found the Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, OH.  It has an indoor water park perfect for kids under 12 and you don't even have to leave because they big rooms too.
We spent two days of up and down the slides, around the lazy river, getting dumped on by the large dump bucket, and face painting.  For a break we would hit the arcade.  I tried to keep up, but after about 2 hours I was spent and would just watch Cameron and Mason have a blast.

Columbus Zoo

After two weeks with MeMaw and PepPaw it was time for a guy's trip and the first stop was the Columbus Zoo.  I have two animals of my own to deal with so the zoo was no problem.  We saw all the exhibits, took a train ride, touched some animals, Cameron got lost and then found, and he even had a starring contest with a gorilla.  Nothing too special here, but they did have a cool looking water park that we wanted to go to, but got rained out.  Next time we said.

Animal Lovers

Of Course Pepe' is Number 1 in our house, but outside we have plenty to love.  Since our house backs up to woods we see families of deer, a groundhog we named Greg, and lots of rabbits and birds.  We even tried to rescue two rabbits with one being only days old.  Stacey did everything she could, but we finally brought it to our vet for further TLC.  What will she try and rescue next?
